Nice vid, theromones are awesome! :D
    @Soundunderwater
Are you crazy? The guitar easy? What kinda guitar do you play? :S
I’m studying classical guitar and I can say it’s very difficult to master all the techniques. Sure you can play some random chords if you like but that’ll get you nowhere. You know that the guitar was the only instrument for which you didn’t had to pick an extra instrument at the music acadamy because of the skill needed to play such an instrument?

i guess that is more difficult than playing cello or guitar or piano. maybe it is more beautiful but i prefer the guitar , guitar is easy, magic and beautiful but i admit theremin is awsome, maybe one day i´ll give it a try

the eighth note you’re playing is too deep, twice, makes it sound a littly faulty

Wrong. Your body acts as a capacitor with regard to the antennas in which change the frequency of 2 oscillators. The resultant of the 2 oscillators inside is what is heard from the instrument.

If it was magnetic fields your body would have to be made up of magnetic metal(nickel, cobalt or iron….yes your body has those elements in them but not enough to affect a magnetic field)

  16. ZeikJT November 30, 2008 at 1:58 pm #

It uses magnetic fields, which you both emit and manipulate with your body.

When you move your hands you distort the field and thus affect the sound. One hand for pitch the other for volume.

It’s an instrument just like any other.

Maybe you should read up a little more on the Theremin.

it’s the same concept as adjusting a TV antenna you have a stronger signal depending on where you stand but it works the same with your hands.

right hand covers pitch the closer you move it to the antenna the high the pitch farther it goes the lower the tone

the left hand is your volume and the decider of what type of note your playing depends on how your hand moves…..

thats about what I got out of it

i dont get how this thing works

  20. HumanisticRationale November 30, 2008 at 1:58 pm #

She is also left handed playing on a Theremin meant for right handed people. That alone can throw even a skilled Thereminist off.

I DONT GET IT!!! how does it work??? it almost seems impossible.. but quite obviously it isnt,…

  22. Ermengarde11 November 30, 2008 at 1:58 pm #

Oh well that’s ever so useful. Bound to get you somewhere in life. Pretty narrow options though pun intended LOL.

So true!! Isn’t strange how some criticize who’ve probably never made the effort themselves?!!

  24. gorthjrod November 30, 2008 at 1:58 pm #
